Hey everyone! M here and I would like to give you a few tips on how to tame your nerves!
1. Set a calming picture as your wallpaper
Examples of pictures you can use are posted around the "Diary" tab or or you can go on google and find pictures that make you calm. I like waves and beaches!
2. Be creative
Let whatever is making you nervous escape your mind when you draw calming pictures or you can write. Write a story, write a poem, or just write the first words that come to your mind! Do whatever your heart desires
3. Keep a diary
Writing down things in a diary is so therapeutic. You can look back at your successes and also what you did to get through your difficult situations.
4. Go outside
Just take a break from any electronics and go outside! The fresh air can clear your mind and you can do whatever you want! Go to the park and read a book or take a notepad and draw a picture of the beautiful animals or just lay outside and relax.
5. Exercise
Yes I know, but exercise helps a lot with bringing down stress and you know when you're doing it that you are doing your body a favor too! Also, you don't have to do hardcore cardio, you can just do simple and relaxing yoga exercises!
6. Safe Place
Find a place where you know you can relax and that you're safe there. For example, my bed is my safe place because it's cozy and I know that nothing bad can happen to me.
7. Pictures
This goes along with tip 1 but find relaxing pictures or pictures that make you happy and putting them somewhere where you can look at them. You can string them across your wall, pin them on a cork board, pile them in a box or tape them on your mirror. Whatever floats your boat.
8. Talk
Sometimes it helps to tell a friend or adult that you feel nervous in certain situations because you know that they won't think you're rude if you leave in the middle of a movie or something like that. They can also be there to help you remain calm. I have told handful of people about my anxiety including a school counselor, my teacher, 3 of my friends and my parents. Trust me when I say having someone else aware can help you 100x more then keeping all your anxious feelings bottled up inside you.
I hope some of you took this advice and try at least one of them out! Love you! xoxo M
